Local Recycling Options
Illinois State law forbids the disposal of the following items in landfills.

Digital Video Disc Players
Video Game Consoles
Small Scale Servers
Scanners
Electronic Mice
Digital Converter Boxes
Cable Receivers
Satellite Receivers
Digital Video Disc Recorders
Occasionally LJ Technical Services will accept old computers in working condition for refurbishment. I usually strip them for parts that can be of use to other clients. I never charge for reclaimed parts, I just pass them along.

Morris Tick is registered with the Illinois EPA to recycle electronic wast of all kinds. They will pay you for what you drop off but it’s not a lot. See their website for more details on what is accepted. http://www.morristick.com/html/recycling.html#publiceventad2010
